Severe Storms Headed Our Way

This afternoon, a line of severe storms to our northwest has been consistently producing wind gusts in excess of 60mph and creating significant damage into parts of Arkansas and Western Tennessee. Here is what the radar looks like as of 3:30pm.. The green boxes with lightning bolts are all reports of structural wind damage and/or wind gusts in excess of 60mph:

Radar as of 3:30pm, and Storm Reports

The high resolution weather models have been very consistent today with the handling of this complex of storms.

Here is what the radar is forecast to look like as of 6:00pm tonight when the line of storms enters NW Alabama:

Forecast Radar 6:00pm tonight

Expect the storms to still be strong and likely producing damaging wind gusts during that time frame.

The storms will start to lose some strength as they move across North AL.. it’s still questionable whether they will still be severe when they arrive in Huntsville around 6:30-8pm but it certainly is possible so make sure to keep an eye on the radar and we will keep you updated.
