Mostly Dry Today with a Slight Chance for Aftn Storm for East Alabama

Another Warm Day across the Valley is expected today and with dew points back on the rise….we can expect to feel a few degrees warmer than it actually is. We’ll see highs today in the upper 80’s to hovering right around the 90° mark. Most areas will remain on  the dry side today; however, there is a very slight chance for a late afternoon shower/storm for areas far east of I-65 close to the GA Line, to be more specific.  As a result, the NWS has issued an outlook for Late Aftn T-Storms for those areas today. See below area NE Alabama shaded in light green. Primary Concern if we happen to see anything develop remains to be locally heavy rainfall/possible hail. Again chances are low on the probability side of seeing any activity develop.

Currently- HSV Airport is sitting right at 77° with a dew point of 60°. Muscle Shoals is at 81° with a dew point of 62°. For areas far East Alabama, we’ll expect dew points to rise a bit more before the end of the day so prepare for a rather hot/humid end to your Thursday.  Have a blessed day!
