From Chief Meteorologist Spencer Denton
HEAT ADVISORY UNTIL 7PM
* RAINFALL DEFICIT
HUNTSVILLE: -6.14” For the year
MUSCLE SHOALS: -8.60” For the year
NEXT 7 DAYS:A strong upper high (see 500mb chart above) will set up right over the TN Valley through Monday of next week and provide the hottest weather so far this Summer. Highs will range from 100 to 105 with the highest temps expected in the Shoals. Even higher elevations will see highs well into the 90’s. The good news…dew points will struggle to stay above 65 during the day which will make these temps “slightly” more bearable. Lows at night will only drop into the 70’s this weekend making for some sticky nights. Rain chances are zero through Sunday and only slight for early next week. Be thankful if you see an isolated shower or storm next week. Temps will back off into the 90’s by Tuesday but it will probably feel a little more muggy. It will be a pretty typical summer pattern around here next week…hot and muggy with just a slight chance of a storm. Be sure and check on the elderly, drink plenty of water and keep your pets cool and hydrated.
AT THE BEACH: Looks great for the beaches in the Gulf and along the east coast. Expect full sunshine with highs in the upper 80’s to near 90 from Mobile to PCB. Take plenty of sunscreen and enjoy!
