Stalled Frontal Boundary delays Rain for a bit today

A stalled frontal boundary just to our Northwest is producing some moderate to heavy showers around Middle Tennessee this morning. Front will slowly begin to progress southward later this afternoon so rain chances have scaled back a bit as a result. For today the unsettled weather pattern continues. Expect Scatt’d T-Storms around the TN Valley as we approach early to late aftn hours today. Primary threat of course remains to be some potential high winds/locally heavy rainfall. Temps have backed off a bit as well as we can look for high today hovering right around the 90° mark.

Drought Conditions Update:

Huntsville:  -7.27

Muscle Shoals: -9.94

Still Moderate to Severely Dry around the TN Valley but the silver lining in all this is the chance of rain in the forecast for the next week. Summer-like conditions will hang around for at least the next 7 days with a chance of aftn T-Storms likely everyday. This won’t pull us out of these drought conditions but will definitely aid in reducing the deficit.

Have a wonderful Tuesday,

Merry Perry
