As many of you know, Curiosity’s landing was successful, and after much fanfare, the first images of the Red planet from the new rover were transmitted back to Earth.
This image is among the first sent home from the rover’s landing site.
Also, how do you know if your new Mars rover is making a good landing? Simply take a picture of it from your Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter!
Truly though, the above image has become one of my most favorite NASA photographs. The image shows the lander on it’s way to the surface just before touch-down.
Well done NASA! Well done USA!
