The drought monitor above indicates that much of the TN Valley has been lifted of any drought stricken conditions with the exception of NW Alabama which still needs ~7.00″ to recover from their deficit putting them at an ABNORMALLY DRY status according to the U.S. Drought Monitor (indicated by the bright yellow color seen above).
Despite much of the progress in Huntsville and the Madison County area, there is still ~ 1.60″ that is needed to FULLY recover from their deficit.
Comparatively speaking, we were borderline severely dry across the TN Valley just a few short months ago! We have definitely made a lot of progress since then despite the rain we are still lacking in some areas to fully recover.
