Dry Weather Abound This Week

As a cold front continues to trigger rain and thunderstorms to our south, it’s harbored in some cooler and more comfortable air behind it.. a welcome airmass for us here across the TN Valley! Here is the current setup and what things will likely look like through a good chunk of this week:

Surface Map showing cooler, drier air settling in behind a cold front

The cold front will weaken as it sits to our south while it continues to fire up a few showers/storms along the I20 corridor but North Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee likely won’t see any rain between now and Friday.

This isn’t the best news, especially for Northwest Alabama where some spots are still over 7″ in the yearly rainfall deficit. The deficit isn’t quite as bad in North Central Alabama, as most areas are 1-2″ in the yearly deficit. Either way, we could use some rain, but if mother nature won’t give us any, we might as well make the best of it and enjoy the unseasonably non-humid airmass while it lasts :)
