From Chief Meteorologist Spencer Denton
THIS WEEK: A cold front currently stationed to our northwest will move through early Wednesday and keep temps in check through Wednesday night. I don’t expect much moisture with the front but wind will turn northwest and be gusty at times Wednesday afternoon. Some clouds are likely and temps will hold in the upper 60′s to low 70′s. Thursday morning will be chilly with lows in the upper 30′s to low 40′s. Temps rebound into the 70′s Thursday afternoon. Expect highs near 80 by Friday. Rain chances are pretty slim through Friday. HPC (see graphic below) seems to agree with any accumulating rain just to our north across TN. We may see some showers Friday in our southern middle TN counties.
THE WEEKEND: Rain chances will be around 30 to 40% over the week as a stationary front hangs out just to our north. Scattered showers/storms are possible with the main flow remaining to our north. A severe weather threat exists in the Central and northern plains, but I don’t expect much here since we will be well south of the main trough. If you have outdoor plans, keep an umbrella handy.
